Following up on our success achieving The Philippines’ First CMP designation, we are delighted to share the good news that our second Philippine first certification has been achieved by Jonas af Klinteberg so we are proud to announce the First Certified in Exhibition Management® (CEM) designation in The Philippines.

The CEM is an internationally recognized designation by the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) for professionals in the Exhibitions and Events Industry. The CEM symbolize a mark of excellence and highest professional standard.

The CEM designation was created in 1975. More than 3,500 certified professionals around the world in more than 50 countries. IAEE is the leading association for the global exhibition industry.

Our commitment for the Events Industry was set since day one and earning this designations is a verification of the passion and quality for the Industry within M&SE.

The Event Tech Live is the show dedicated to technology for event professionals giving the opportunity to present new event tech, show case the latest trends and cutting-edge technology tools for the Events Industry.

ETL has two hybrid editions this year. Launching the first digital Event Tech Live, US & Canada on June 8-9, 2021 and The Event Tech Live, UK & Europe on November 1-5, 2021. The first edition of the ETL was on November 2014 in the UK.

Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) is the annual day that recognize the value of the Meetings and Events Industry, bringing together leaders and professionals across de world who share interest in and passion to celebrate this amazing industry.

The Events Industry is incredibly exciting, serial of different events are held across the globe to commemorate the GMID, focusing on tell our best story and advocacy for the industry that we love but the most important, the impact of Face-to-Face meetings.

The very first GMID took place on April 14, 2016 by The Meetings Mean Business Coalition (MMBC). MMBC was created in 2009 by U.S. Travel Association with the purpose to showcase the value of business events.

There is no doubt that 2020 was a challenging year, it was crucial to embrace digital transformation, restructure our business models and pivot to virtual. Furthermore, we have prepared during this challenging times and as part of our efforts, we adapt to all the new ways of operating and we begin planning for a return back to business with a new mindset.

Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions (MICE) and Special Events play a significant role. We are a global industry that facilitate and foster human connections, driving innovation and change, generating thousands of jobs, professional development, economic growth and business opportunities for every country.

Great things happen when people comes together. We all are ambassadors to promote, reactivate, collaborate and continue to serve to our industry on this unique recovery. We are confident that we will come back stronger with a fresh start because with greater reason the value of human connections are more appreciated.

Travel RoadShow is a monthly series presented by WiT. Web in Travel (WiT) is a platform focused on travel, founded in 2005 in Singapore and supported by Northstar Travel Group. 

Six episodes of The Travel RoadShow from March to August. Its first Episode “No Flight, No Road – The Battle To Open Borders” begins this coming March 25, two hour session with different event formats including a panel discussion, interviews, open space, case study, campfire chat and more,  from  6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. broadcasting from Marina Bay Sands Hybrid Broadcast Studio in Singapore.

Last week, during the Tourism and Technology Forum (TTF), Yeoh Siew Hoon Founder of WiT invited us to participate to this hybrid event to exchange ideas, learn from the speakers, share experiences and together help us to get through this year.

We from M&SE had the pleasure to attend the first hybrid Tourism and Technology Forum organized by Tourism Promotion Board (TPB) held in Okada Manila last 17-18 March 2021.

TPB took the initiative to organize two-day hybrid event for the Tourism Stakeholders and learn on the recent technology and platforms innovations for the industry.

Tourism is a major economic pillar for the country and Technology has played a fundamental role during this pandemic, most of the stakeholders have adapted, prepared and/or changed its business model to be able operate and provide services during this situation.

A learning platform with dynamic sessions and panels for everyone participating at the forum. Sharing knowledge, updates and experiences from the Speakers on Sustainability trends, SMART Tourism and Cities, Technology and Innovation.

It is important to highlight that the health and wellbeing was the higher priority during the event and rigorous protocols were implemented by the organizer and staff at the venue. All onsite delegates were required to present a COVID-19 Negative Test Result upon arrival, temperature screenings, social distancing arrangements were in place, participants wear both face shields and face mask at all times, etc.

Events like this demonstrate that the Meeting and Events Industry is working towards coming back to business following the health and safety protocols.

Last February, three of the most important global organizers collaborate together and present a successful and safe fashion shows to do business face-to-face for three days under one roof.

MAGIC Pop-Up Orlando managed by Tarsus Group, OFFPRICE Orlando Market managed by Informa Markets, and WWIN Orlando Showcase managed by Clarion Events on February 9-11 held at Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) in Orlando, Florida.
